NANO announces the lawsuit against it over Bitgrail hack has been dropped

The team responsible for NANO recently posted on their blog that the lawsuit filed against them earlier this year has been dropped. The suit concerned a hack on the exchange Bitgrail, which saw $150,000,000 worth of NANO stolen.

The lawsuit, filed back in April, maintained that the NANO team was responsible due to the fact that it had encouraged users to purchase NANO at Bitgrail even though they already knew there was a problem. For example:

It is alleged that this was tweeted after problems began to emerge. NANO has maintained they did not know anything about a hack until it was already too late, and it is Bitgrail who should be held responsible.

Though details are scarce, yesterday NANO posted the following message concerning the case:

"We are pleased to announce that the legal complaint against members of the Nano Foundation has been withdrawn by the plaintiff due to a determination that the case lacked merit. The Nano Foundation maintains its support for the Bitgrail victims in pursuit of their claims in the existing bankruptcy proceedings in Italy. The Foundation looks forward to continuing to work alongside the Nano community towards the goal of making Nano a universally accepted global currency."

It seems this is in part putting the issue to rest for NANO, though it sounds like a terrible situation for affected investors. Stay tuned to Chepicap for any further updates.
