A lot of people have been asking the question: Is Ethereum dead? Many seem to be convinced ETH is on its way out, and are eagerly sharing their reaons why.
Reasons like, 'ETH can’t scale', 'not all ICOs are officially out of ETH, so the dumping could (will) continue', 'Gas is worthless', 'ETH is extra work for dApp developers' and last but not least 'ETH mining is now 0% profitable'.
Plenty of reasons to assume Ethereum is dead, or will be soon. However, many remain die-hard ETH believers. So lets take a closer look at some of the reasons why people think ETH is NOT dead.
Alex Saunders, CEO & founder of @NuggetsNewsAU, shared the following to his 14.5K followers:
$ETH is not dead.— Alex Saunders (@AlexSaundersAU) September 12, 2018
- 94 of the top 100 projects built on #Ethereum
- Lightning @raiden_network close
- #Devcon4 already sold out
- Block reward reducing
- ETH futures soon
- Dev community >250k
- #ICOs still raise in ETH
- 14k decentralised nodes
- @VitalikButerin is a genius
Positive reactions followed swiftly:
Well said @AlexSaundersAU keep up the great work! Education is a must in this space. 👍🏻— Crypto Baker (@crypto_baker) September 12, 2018

Twitter user Paul is convinced that 'world domination' is only 10 years away for ETH.
I would be very worried about going up against a project with 250k devs on it. Tut tut so impatient! Give them 10 years and then see what they will have achieved! World domination coming for Eth!— paul (@paul06120071) September 13, 2018
CryptoSmartHUB even had the time to tweet out 'the quote of the day'.
“If ETH can scale it will prevail”—CryptoSmartHUB— CryptoSmart HUB (@cryptosmarthub) September 12, 2018
ETH is most likely here to stay and thrive, even though they have a 'few' challenges ahead of them. Time will tell, and hopefully the 18% increase during the last 24 hours is a good indication of amazing things to come.
