Paris Saint Germain soccer club launches a token for fans

Popular French soccer club Paris Satin Germain (PSG) is launching its own token ecosystem for fans of the club.

This is in collaboration with a “tokenized voting platform”. According to a press release shared with Coin Telegraph, the company is run on a sports blockchain venture called “chiliZ” whose backing includes exchange giant, Binance amongst others from within the industry.

Furthermore, PSG plans to launch a “Fan Token Offering” or FTO that will allow fans to acquire tokens which in turn enable voting rights and access to rewards. Fans will vote upon decisions including stadium music, logo designs, and uniform color choices, alongside the player of the match, most valuable player and friendly match lineups.

The token will be tradable on the platform and will be paired against the ChiliZ token (CHZ).

Chief partnership officer of PSG spoke of the move into crypto in a press release:

“Paris Saint-Germain is determined to leverage the opportunities that cryptocurrency can provide. This revolutionary technology will have an important impact on the club’s overall business strategy and the way we engage with our fanbase.”.
