According to ZKM, on September 1, CryptoKitties, together with digital art firm Meural, will present the exhibit "Bringing Blockchain to Life" at the Center for Art and Media in Germany, where it will explain the inner workings of blockchain technology in real time.
Often referred to as the 'very first use case for blockchain technology beyond cryptocurrencies', CryptoKitties, became an instant hit after it launched in November 2017 as a collectible game built on top of blockchain and the Ethereum cryptocurrency.
Since its launch, CryptoKitties got so popular that they accounted for as much as 30 percent of the volume of trading in Ethereum, and some of the most popular Kitties have sold for the equivalent of more than $200,000.
Cofounder and CEO of CryptoKitties, Roham Gharegozlou, said that 'CryptoKitties’ good design and appealing aesthetics are responsible for introducing entirely new audiences to the potential of blockchain technology. Our exhibit at ZKM continues our mission of demystifying the blockchain so that the people that can benefit from it most — whether they’re creators and consumers, or artists and their fans — can be a part of the technology’s future.'
Vladimir Vukicevic, CEO of Meural, continued by saying he was excited to be able 'to help CryptoKitties make their museum debut by providing them with a physical home that’s worthy of a museum setting.'
