Robinhood adds support for Ethereum Classic, six currencies now available

Robinhood, the commission-free trading app, announced earlier today (August 6) that you are now able to invest in Ethereum Classic.

The addition of Ethereum classic marks the sixth available cryptocurrency on the trading app and comes exactly three weeks after the addition of Dogecoin. Investors now have the opportunity to invest in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Ethereum Classic. The app also provides the tracking of market data for ten cryptocurrencies

Robinhood Crypto is currently available in 19 states but are always working obtaining licenses to expand their service availability. Since Robinhood announced Dogecoin, the company has expanded to two additional states – Georgia and Iowa.

As Chepicap reported, Coinbase officially announced in June that they were planning on adding support for Ethereum Classic. Robinhood being a direct competitor probably saw an opportunity and decided to get a leg up, adding ETC support first.

In response to the news, the price of Ethereum Classic has risen by over 7% and is now trading at $17.75.
