TRON just rewarded $25,000 in bug bounties

It has been announced that 5 developers were given rewards for finding bugs in the code of the popular cryptocurrency TRON. The TRON team was previously running a bug bounty program through GitHub.

The prize total was worth $25,000 and was distributed in amounts of $13,000, $6,000, $5,000, $500 and $500 respectively. Justin Sun, founder and CEO of TRON, took to twitter to make the announcement:

The GitHub bug bounty has since ceased, and been moved to HackerOne.

Chepicap has previously reported on the rise of cryptocurrency teams using bug bounties to help increase the security of their code. With this announcement, it sounds like the programs are working well. It will be interesting to see the results of more bug bounty programs in the future, and if they can truly secure the various blockchains deployed currently.
