Tezos Foundation to open grant-making process

The Tezos foundation has announced plans - via their website - to open a grant-making process.

The announcement details the public call for grants will be made later this year in August, where applicants will present a project in relation to three categories targeting key aspects of the foundation, these are as follows:

1.         Research that furthers the Tezos protocol and related technologies (including premier research teams/labs, documentation, education, and training).

2.        Development of tools and applications to support the Tezos ecosystem.

3.        Efforts to strengthen and nurture the burgeoning Tezos community.

This grant-making proposal effectively strengthens the Tesoz network by incentivizing innovation within the protocol. The foundation have already committed a large amount of funds towards institutions to help advance the protocol, the announcement lists nine of these advancements, one of which is Inria, which plans to set up internal labs with fulltime research teams.

This is some positive news from Tezos, most welcome after its numerous initial debacles. More negativity arose last month as the foundation announced its Know Your Customer (KYC) checks a year after their ICO.
