Coinbase Custody officially opens

Last week, Coinbase Custody accepted its first deposit. Today, they’re officially open for business. Over the next few weeks, a number of world-class clients will be included, comprising of leading crypto hedge funds, exchanges and ICO teams.

Coinbase Custody’s mission is to make digital currency investment accessible to every eligible financial institution and hedge fund in the world. To achieve this, the team will strive to become the most trusted and easiest-to-use crypto custody service available. Coinbase Custody consists of Coinbase’s tried and tested cold storage for crypto assets, an institutional-grade broker-dealer and its reporting services, and a broad client-coverage program.

Coinbase Custody’s unique features include:

·         On-chain segregation of crypto assets

·         Split, offline private keys

·         Multiple security layers

·         Robust cold storage auditing and reporting

Coinbase Custody takes advantage of the expertise and systems of their partner Electronic Transaction Clearing (ETC). ETC is registered with the SEC as a broker-dealer and a member of FINRA subjected to regular financial reporting and independent audits.
