Winklevoss Twins: all major tech companies to have its own crytocurrency

The Winklevoss Twins showcase their confidence for Facebook's Libra and mention that all the tech giants would be releasing their own cryptocurrency over the next two years in the wake of Libra.

According to the CNBC report, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss expressed their optimism over Facebook's Libra project despite their tumultuous relationship with Mark Zuckerberg.

They said, ''[Libra] is very positive for crypto, a company the stature of Facebook talking about cryptocurrencies demystifies the word and makes people feel a lot more comfortable.''

The twins emphasized that all Calibra needs to do to ensure Libra is a massive success is to work with regulators, rather than avoid the issue.

Winklevoss Twins own the Gemini exchange which is fully licensed in New York and has issued its own insured stable coin, the Gemini Dollar.

The Gemini Dollar is only pegged to the USD, while Libra will be tied to multiple fiat currencies. The twins are open to see a Bitcoin-Libra or even a Libra-Gemini dollar pairing in the future.

They bestowed confidence in Libra by stating that Libra has set a standard for cryptocurrency projects. Tyler said, ''Our prediction is every FANG company will have some sort of cryptocurrency project within the next two years.''
