Crypto Twitter reacts to Trump's tweet, Bitcoin remains largely unphased

US President Donald Trump, despite being known for his frequent tweeting, has never actually said anything about Bitcoin. Until recently, that is. Yet, despite his large following and the criticisms he had, the market doesn’t seem to particularly care. Crypto Twitter, however, is still buzzing.

Trump tweeted several hours ago that he’s “not a fan” of Bitcoin, yet the apex cryptocurrency doesn’t seem to have taken the news personally. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $11,728.07, up 0.22% over the last 24 hours. Additionally, many proponents are actually thanking the President for giving the industry a monumental publicity boost.

In fact, Justin Sun replied, saying the president had been misled by “fake news” as Trump employed the same argument against crypto that has been used by many naysayers. As such, Sun has extended an invitation to Trump to join him at his $4.6 million lunch with Warren Buffet in an attempt to educate the President on the benefits of cryptocurrencies. No news yet on whether President Trump will accept the invite.

Others, however, haven’t been so diplomatic:
