India will educate its high-ranking police officers on cryptocurrency

India’s national police academy is about to educate its high-ranking officers of the Indian Police Service on the functioning and legal aspects of cryptocurrencies.

According to Bitcoin.com, India’s premier police training academy, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, is looking to educate its high-ranking law enforcement officers on cryptocurrency.

India’s national police academy will start the cryptocurrency course for high-ranking officers of the Indian Police Service in the beginning of September.

The course will apparently dig deeper on the functioning and legal aspects of cryptocurrencies, and will as well focus on several investigations of cases that involve the use of digital coins.

Just yesterday Chepicap reported that Indian authorities arrested yet again 4 individuals who were involved in a crypto Ponzi scheme case.

The country's Criminal Investigation Department suspect the individuals of committing fraud related to their KBC Coin business.

The authorities argue that KBC Coin is a Ponzi scheme, due to how it was marketed. Investors who bought in were promised high returns, of over 1000%, however, since the coin was launched, KBC hasn't changed in value.

In the meanwhile, the Indian government is in the continued process of deciding on a proposed regulatory framework for cryptocurrency drafted by an interministerial committee headed by Finance Secretary and Secretary of Economic Affairs Subhash Chandra Garg.

However, according to one Indian Bitcoin enthusiast, who goes by the Twitter handle, Indian Cryptogirl, all of these articles about Inida banning crypto are based on FUD.

The Indian CryptoGirl recently pointed out in a tweet that 'even if it is true, it talks about a draft sent by a committee to the government, not a law passed in court.

'Let's wait for India's Supreme Court verdict in July', she added.
