Cloudflare outage today saw many crypto-sites temporarily down, including Coinbase

It is being reported by The Next Web that today a technical issue affected web host Cloudflare, used by quite a good deal of the internet including many prominent crypto exchanges. As a result, Coinbase, Bitfinex and others suffered crippling, albeit temporary issues.

As soon as the outage began, word was spreading through twitter, though many platforms were reassuring that no major issue had occured:

It was reported that Bitfinex, Coinbase, Coinbase Pro, CoinMarketCap, and MyEtherWallet were all affected in some way, but all should be operating now. The event prompted a swift response from Cloudflare, who kept users updated on their blog:

Some used the hiccup to point out that the Bitcoin network itself never experiences downtime:

However others brought up that this is sometimes a moot point:

While there was no major problem today, Cloudflare promised to work hard to prevent outages like this from happening again:
