Former Ripple exec Catherine Coley to lead Binance US launch

Catherine Coley, former had of XRP institutional liquidity at Ripple has been appointed as CEO of BAM Trading Services at Binance US, her LinkedIn profile reveals. Her former boss, Brad Garlinghouse, congratulated her on Twitter:

BAM, having partnered with Binance on June 14, is a little-known California-based company and will serve as the operator of Binance US after Binance stops providing its services to US customers in September.

While no official launch date has been announced yet, we do know that Binance US will be a fully regulatory-compliant marketplace designed specifically for US securities and market laws. Coley’s new role will be to oversee the launch.

Furthermore, neither company has shed any light on how Binance US plans on achieving regulatory compliance with the US regulatory framework.

Coley, who spent two years at Ripple and was a Wall Steet veteran before that, says she plans on sticking with Binance for the foreseeable future:

“This is just the beginning of a long journey ahead, and I look forward to working with Binance as a partner to unlock more potential for the blockchain ecosystem here in the US.”
