More than 5,000 Bitcoin ATMs are now available worldwide

There are now more than 5,000 Bitcoin ATMs around the world, so there is little to no reason why one could not get their hands on some coin of the world's most popular cryptocurrency.

The world’s very first Bitcoin ATM opened in Vancouver, Canada in late 2013. Ever since that day, the total number of cryptocurrency ATMs around the globe has continued to increase.

According to CoinATMRadar, there are now more than 5,000 Bitcoin ATMs available around the world, and has increased from 501 ATMs in 2016 to over 5,000 in 2019, further showing that ATMs have doubled almost every year for the last 4 years.

These ATMs. which offer crypto traders the ability to purchase cryptocurrencies on the spot with cash or a credit card, charge an average transaction fee of 8.9 percent, while many ATMs in the United States for example, charge a flat fee of $2 to $4 for a withdrawal.

36% of these ATMs have a sell option, which means that users would be able to take cash away from these ATMs.

The United States takes the absolute lead by owning 60.8% of all the machines available. Canada comes in second, with 12.4% of machines installed. Austria has 5.3% of the total number of ATMs.

Chepicap recently reported that in May 2019 alone, around 300 new Bitcoin ATMs were opened globally.

It is a positive sign to see so much new support growing for digital currencies, and if history is ever an indication, we might expect this trend to continue as the crypto market keeps growing onwards.
