Vays expects Bitcoin price to slow down at $13K, not ready to pay $4500 bet

Bitcoin maximalist and trader Tone Vays still thinks Bitcoin will revisit $4500. Vays is not ready to pay a bet he made with CNBC Cryptotrader host Ran Neuner.

According to Vays, BTC will drop back to $4,500 before the Bitcoin halving in 2020. Over the last few weeks, the trader constantly reminded people that crypto winter might not be over yet. After breaking $8,000, Vays said he was selling his Bitcoin because he expected the price to crash to $4,200-$4,500 in June. Now Bitcoin is trading over $10,700.

This, however, didn't change the bearish outlook of Vays for the rest of 2019. After Ran Neuner asked him on Twitter if he was 'ready to pay the bet', Vays said that he 'thought we agreed on the halving being the cut-off. Don't count your chickens yet, Ran.'

In one of his YouTube videos, Vays said that if Bitcoin were to close last week at $10,500 or higher, 'I will see that as pretty damn bullish.' Bitcoin did close above these levels, which means that even Bitcoin bear Vays is now looking at upside. In the video, he says that he is 'expecting prices to slow down at $13365.'

In April, Vays still made the case that Bitcoin sinking to $1,300 'remains a realistic target'. "My worst case scenario target is $1,300. It doesn’t mean that Bitcoin has to get there, but to me, $1,300 has been a realistic target for over a year and it remains a realistic target."

Bitcoin is now trading over $10,700, after a small retracement following the push over $11,000. Most cryptocurrencies seem to be making gains again today, with TRON overtaking Stellar to re-enter the top 10.
