Market gains $7 billion as Bitcoin breaks past $9.5k

The last 24 hours have been positive again for the crypto market as a whole, gaining market cap, but mostly with smaller tokens. Bitcoin has kept its momentum to reach its highest point of the year so far, while the top altcoins seem to be losing ground to it.

Total market cap / BTC dominance:

The total crypto market cap is now $293 billion, after $7 billion was gained in the last 24 hours. BTC dominance stands at 57.8 percent.

After retesting the resistance level yesterday, BTC has now broken past $9400 to soar to its 2019 high price of $9590. The top crypto is up over 4 percent, and now looks to be meeting a new resistance of $9600.

Top 10

Binance Coin (BNB) is the best of the other top 10 cryptos, up around 3% for the 24h period. Most other coins have barely moved or are down slightly, with Litecoin (LTC) falling by 2.44 percent from this time yesterday, after it had seen some significant gains.

Monero (XMR)

Monero has seen the biggest gains of any crypto in the top 50, up over 5 percent for the last 24 hours. XMR is now up almost 10 percent over the last 2 days, and some have speculated that this surge in the popularity of the leading privacy coin could be linked to the release of the whitepaper for the notoriously privacy-violating Facebook's new crypto project, Libra.
