Bitcoin holds $9,000, most Altcoins take losses today

Much of the market saw a bit of a correction today, however Bitcoin was less affected than the majority of Altcoins. As is usually the case, a few coins managed to find some green today despite the downturn.

Coin Market Capitalization/Bitcoin Dominance

As of right now, the market cap is at $282,461,917,091, down from an earlier high of $289 billion. Bitcoin dominance is back in full strength, now up to 57.3%.

Current Price of Bitcoin: $9,172.52.

Top 10

Looking at the major market players, we can see that the only coins showing green are Binance Coin (BNB), up 1.70% to $34.68 and Litecoin (LTC) rising just 0.68% to $134.84. Downside was a bit harsh, with Stellar (XLM) down -4.79% to $0.1247 and Ripple (XRP) dipping -4.29% to $0.429, taking back much of the gains the coin had seen from the recent MoneyGram partnership.

Biggest Winners/Losers

Moving outside of the top 10 we find a few coins moving up. Best performer today was Insight Chain (INB) with a nice 46.78% rise to $0.281, and in a distant second we have Ardor (ARDR) up 11.93% to $0.118. As for downside, though many coins saw red, worst hit was Zilliqa (ZIL), dropping -9.26% to $0.022, and Bytecoin (BCN) was down -7.87% to $0.00095.

One may have expected more volatility in the market on the day that Facebook announced its own cryptocurrency, but seeing as it was no secret, the news was arguably already "priced in."
