Sunday morning CBS aired a piece on leading cryptocurrency and featured the Winklevoss twins on their involvement in the space. As a result of this BTC surged past $9,000 and the Winklevoss’ founded exchange, Gemini, surged in popularity.

The eight minute segment that aired on June 16, 2019, featured Tyler Winklevoss, Cameron Winklevoss, and the author of Bitcoin Billionaires- Ben Mezrich. Out of the topics discussed, the Winklevoss twins spoke on their involvement in Facebook and Bitcoin, in the early stages. They also dove into a simple explanation of Bitcoin, by explaining that it is “money that works like e-mail.” Other topics discussed included Facebook’s soon to be revealed cryptocurrency.

After the airing of the report, Cameron Winklevoss was quick to point out that Bitcoin broke into the $9,000 range and the Gemini mobile app was about to break into the top 20 in the app store for finance apps.
