Facebook to launch the Libra testnet next week

It is being reported by The Block that Facebook is intending to not only release the whitepaper for its new currency, named Libra, next week, but also will be launching the testnet. It has been confirmed the reveal date will be June 18th.

A private blog post has been making the rounds today, which apparently reveals that the Libra blockchain will be open-sourced under an Apache 2.0 License. Furthermore it elaborates that both the whitepaper and the testnet will be getting a reveal this week.

Apparently Facebook has been sending this information only to specific outlets, as it does not want to work with many of the major crypto news organizations, though it is unclear at this time why that is.

It's being reported that in this update blog Facebook criticizes existing blockchains for not reaching mainstream adoption, something it aims to change with Libra. Will this be the coin that brings crypto to mainstream adoption? Stick with Chepicap for all updates!
