Charles Hoskinson tells community to be ready for Cardano (ADA) upgrade

Charles Hoskinson has shared his thoughts on the future of Cardano (ADA), with the important Shelley upgrade just around the corner. At a recent event in Japan, the IOHK head told members of the community that they need to be prepared, claiming that "I'm not in charge, you are".

The testnet for Shelley will be launching in two weeks' time, with a beta version following not long after. Shelley will see the Cardano (ADA) network upgrading from PoW to a new proof-of-stake (PoS) system, and Hoskinson claims that it will see the crypto become truly decentralized, in a way that will limit his influence.

The former Ethereum developer was speaking at EMURGO's Cardano Advisory Showcase. He insisted that everyone needs to "armed with a lot of information", in order to make proper decisions about the future of Cardano, which has a number of other important upgrades in the pipeline.

Hoskinson also discussed the speed at which the community has scaled, coming up to the second anniversary of Cardano. He believes that IOHK could double in size within a year, and that the Cardano eco-system could eventually have as many as 1 million people.
