Satoshi Nakamoto is...Wei Liu?

Another person has recently claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous Bitcoin founder. According to U.S. copyright data, an individual called Wei Liu has attempted to copyright the Bitcoin whitepaper, which was published back in 2008.

The true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto has been a topic of interest again recently in the crypto community, with Craig Wright stirring up trouble again. The Australian businessman has filed defamation lawsuits against a number of individuals for refuting his claims that he is Satoshi, leading many to jokingly claim that they created Bitcoin, with others speculating on who Satoshi might be.

The filing claims that Liu is a Chinese citizen, currently residing in California. The copyright registration for 'Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System' was made on May 24.

Many in the community have welcomed this latest development in the saga, as anything that disputes Wright's claim to be Satoshi is seen as a positive. However, CoinGeek head and Bitcoin Cash SV supporter Calvin Ayre, one of Wright's main allies in the crypto community, has also responded positively to the filing. He suggests that it might be a way for the issue of Satoshi's identity to be finally resolved in court.
