The first crypto president of the US? McAfee wants to take the White House

John McAfee will be running for president again in 2020. The crypto enthusiast announced his candidacy on Twitter.

McAfee tried to get into the White House during the last elections in 2016 as well, as a candidate for the Libertarian Party. He eventually lost the race against Gary Johnson, who then received 3.27% of the national vote in the elections.

In the tweet announcing his candidacy, McAfee states that he will run again with the Libertarian party if they ask him. If not, he wants to create his own party. McAfee believes he can play a vital rol for the crypto community running for president.

Last week, McAfee announced that he will be launching is own cryptocurrency. The 'McAfee Coin' is based on a radical new concept, according to the man himself: 'Fiat currencies backed by crypto - the reverse of what banks are attempting'.
