Microsoft Excel reportedly adds BTC symbol to program according to users

According to some users of Microsoft Excel, in a new update the tech giant has added the BTC symbol as a currency option in their software.

While the news of Microsoft adding BTC as a finance symbol in their Excel application, comes from Reddit and various Twitter posts, Microsoft has yet to confirm of deny that this update is legitimate and being rolled out to all users.

Though the legitimacy of the screenshots from Microsoft Excel users hasn’t been confirmed, the crypto community as a whole hasn’t questioned if this screenshot is fake or not. This could be due to the fact that Microsoft is no stranger to the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency community. On May 13, Chepicap reported that Microsoft is using Bitcoin's blockchain for its new decentralized ID tool. Microsoft also has its own blockchain division and has made it clear that they are interested and plan to invest their time and money into the community.
