Ripple (XRP)

Ripple is a real-time gross settlement system and remittance network developed by Ripple Labs released in 2012. Built on the blockchain, XRP is the cryptocurrency native to Ripple. It was created to be a bridge currency, facilitating trades in any other currency. Because of its unique consensus algorithm, it cannot be mined. however, the algorithm als ensures that transaction times can take as little as four or five seconds to confirm.

XRP is currently the second biggest cryptocurrency in the world, behind Bitcoin. The popularity of this coin means it’s widely available for purchase. Bitstamp, Bittrex, Kraken, CoinOne and Hubi Global are a few of the exchanges that support XRP trading. The XP price has been relatively stable compared to some other coins. There are many Ripple wallets available, however, unlike Bitcoin wallets, Ripple wallets require users to hold 20 XRP for booking their wallet addresses. In terms of mobile wallets, Toast Wallet! and Abra Wallet are two of the more popular ones. There are also several desktop-based wallets like Rippex and Exarpy.
